Cashmere Veneer

Contributed by Gentledove on Tuesday, 27th July 2004 @ 06:43:03 PM in AEST
Topic: didactic

The green eyed monster seems to apprear,
Wrapped up thight in a cashmere veneer.
Soft and pretty his words envoke,
Illusions of love through all that smoke.

Pretending to be so helpful and kind,
He makes it so easy to become entwined,
In the lives of others he thinks are enshrined,
With all of the gifts to help them unwind.

He demands devotion, your complete attention,
Devouring your soul, he nails the coffin.
All that you do and all that you speak,
Will be questioned in a fashion that will make you think.
That his love for you is totally unique.

So don't be fooled by his innoccent laughter,
Pretending to be made of beautiful cashmere.

Jealousy is definitely a demon to be very wary of. For some it seems so hard to resist, but the payoff costs more than dollars in the end. Most of us cannot afford to or want to pay the price of self respect because it cannot be regained usually.

If I interrupted your poem right, then I know this person without sight! You can feel his presence without knowing he is there.....And yes, he pretends......he's the biggest pretender of all times........and he is as counterfeit as a 3 dollar bill! And since you called him the green eyed monster.....I might think him or her to be jealousy. That is rottenness to the bones......don't want him around too often, or too long!
Hugs
