|
From the outside, perfection is all you see,
But perfection is not her reality.
You think she has everything-
The boyfriend, the grades, and even the voice to sing.
You see the smiles and cheery face,
And sadness you cannot trace.
The truth is that she holds her sadness in;
She feels like she has no one to confide in.
Have you ever seen the tears run down her cheeks?
Have you ever seen her jump as the floor creaks?
Then how can you judge her as you do?
Do you not see that she is just like you?
See the problems she bears-
The torment she shares.
For one moment, put yourself in her place.
Learn to see what she hides behind that smiling face.
Understand the hardships she endures.
And then you will see that they are much like yours.
Put yourself for once in her place.
Understand the things she must face.
Now do you see perfection?
Or do you rather see a reflection?
Now you see that we are all the same-
Held together in this sturdy frame.
Now, you do not see perfection.
Now, you see a reflection.
