The Perfect Love

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Tuesday, 27th July 2004 @ 11:20:56 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

To the blind man who lives right down the road...
There's just something that I've got to let you know...
Before it's too late... for you... for me...
You're in my heart... where you'll always be

I woke up this morning... with you on my mind
'Cause I'd been dreamin' about you... all night
I woke up knowing… I had something…
Something I need to tell you today
But I just can't find the right words to say...
Oh... babe...

I imagined the perfect love for me…
Would have to be someone with just the right qualities
With just one look... one glimpse into those wonderful eyes
My knees would grow weak… time after time
And with just that one look... that one glimpse inside…
I would peer into the depths of his soul…
And see it smiling back at me... making me whole…
He would... then... take me into his strong arms and hold me so close... so tight
His touch would calm all my fear and fright
No matter what I would do…
His love for me would see me through
Through all the good times and the bad…
Our love would hold us up and never let us be sad

This is how I imagine my perfect love...
Taking moonlit walks
Along the lake shore… where we would stroll and talk
Hand in hand... arm in arm...
With him holding me so close... so tight
Listening to every word… I would say or write
Going that extra mile... if need be…
To try and make me smile and laugh
Always ready with a joke or pun…
He would have to be loads of fun

To the blind man who lives right down the road...
If only I could see u face to face...
'Cause I've got a feeling running deep inside...
It's one that I can't deny...
Since...

I woke up this morning... with you on my mind
I'd been dreamin’ about you… all night
Woke up knowing... I had something…
Something I needed to tell you today
And I think maybe... I've found the right words to say

Oh...babe...
This perfect love that I imagine... is you...
No one else on earth can touch my heart and soul the way you do
With the little things you do and say…
You melt my heart.... when I hear your voice
Singing to me… those sweet love songs in the afternoon sun
Oh what fun... we had...
My only desire is that you…. could only feel the same way I do
'Cause... I’ve lost my heart...
Completely…
To this perfect love...
YOU!
