Cut out these Lies

Contributed by jt on Monday, 26th July 2004 @ 07:55:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Throw yourself to the ground
and fight the screaming in your head
Fingers digging at eyes
For these voices need to be shed
Pleading for it to stop
For now there’s no safe place to tread
Agony, your new friend
He wont leave you until you're dead

All the screaming
and needing
is feeding
the bleeding
Still deceiving
this pleading
the pain’s
not receding
The dreaming
impeding
ignoring
the heeding
Who’s leading
this seething
as the hurt
begins breeding

Cut yourself to the bone
and watch the lies run from your veins
As it pools at your feet
and black the ground beneath it stains
The voices quiet inside
The screaming from your body drains
and strength abandons knees
as you fall short still in these chains
