Don’t abandoned me

Contributed by lil_angel on Monday, 28th October 2002 @ 12:16:17 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I am sorry that I caused you so much pain
I told you that I wouldn’t
But I did
I am sorry but I couldn’t control it
The inner struggle I couldn’t fight anymore
I was losing
Going so far down
No longer able to fight
The people around me pushing me down
Further and further into the mud
The scars are now my battle wounds
I plea with you now that if you find out
Please don’t follow in my footsteps
I love you too much to lose you
But I hurt too much to stop
You want me to stop but offer me no comfort
Please realize that I am hiding it from you to protect you
For I know this will cause to much pain for you
Please when you do find out
For I know you will
For you have your ways
Do not yell or get angry cause that just makes me want to do it more
But hold me and comfort me and be my brother
I am trying to stop
I am just failing
Letting the enemy win but I won't anymore
But I can’t fight this battle alone
Don’t abandoned me

I do not hand out 5's without a reason...The ability to share ones deepest feelings of depression and make the reader feel them too is not easy..but you have done so and very well. I too know depression...keep in mind..you are not alone in your agony and you are not abandoned.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
