Deceived By My Love

I was deceived by my love today.
He has been by my side through out my life.
When I was sad he held out his hands towards me.
When I was lonely he was there to hold me tight.
When I needed a shoulder to cry on he lended me his.
I could always count on my love for I knew that he would be there.
He never said a discouraging word.
He never judged me and loved me for who I was.
He was my lover, my companion, and my friend.
He knew what I was going to say before I even said it.
I didn’t have to care how I looked like or if I was pretty or not,
He loved me unconditionally.
However my love today deceived me.
He abandoned me when I most needed him to be by my side.
He couldn’t help me this time.
He left me to face life without the blinders on.
I was able to do it but ached for my love to be there with me.
I was left with the scent of the man I loved.
