Whispers Whispering (She's passing by)

Contributed by Daniella on Sunday, 25th July 2004 @ 11:39:34 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

She's sky walking while she's cloud walking
And as she walks on by the stars
She hears them whisper
(There she is...did you hear...?)
The shame in her eyes as they strip her naked
And there's the poison as it drips out their mouths
And under their words she's sinking
She runs in deafening shadow
As if to hide a lingering feeling hidden somewhere in her prescence
You don't know her
(Please stop it)
You know only the cold that follows
Her heroes were golden until they failed to stop the whispering
To drown those stars
(Whisper Whispering as she's passing by)
(Please stop)
How she wishes they were here
In the color red lies her salvation
Or so she believes
Keep that knife away
Away
Drink deep the rain that pours forth from her eyes
And from her wounds
For there are so many
Too many for her heroes to heal
And when she walks by
They feel the cold that lingers behind
And she feels the ice that rests upon their lips
Shush Stars
(Stop them...make them stop)
You are no longer her gold
You cannot stop them
(Whisper whispering as she's passing by)

The very first line of the poem got me hooked.
I think this is beautiful work.
Completely enchanting and brilliant.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
