tiny birds

Contributed by darkeyedman on Monday, 28th October 2002 @ 09:15:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I can’t see the blackening clouds,
But I can smell the rain.
Emotions falling down our cheeks,
Lips catch drops of pain.
Questions that I longed to ask,
Answers that I fear.
The frantic dance of tiny birds
As the stormfronts near.
I can feel the lightning strike,
Electricity in the air.
Shadowy lies illuminated
In the flash of your stare.
We test the strength of our love,
Sin by sin by sin.
Tiny birds seek out shelter
As the rains begin.
I can’t hear your words
Amidst the rain and roar.
Startled by the thunder clap
As you slammed the door.
I smiled when you came back in,
You began to cry.
Tiny birds stretch and twitch,
Trying to get dry..
I can see the storm clouds part
As we stand face to face.
Smiling eyes and loving hearts
Beneath the sun’s embrace..
Waves of passion pouring down,
Nothing left to say.
Tiny birds spread their wings
And quickly fly away.
