Feeling the Demon

Contributed by mdmorash on Sunday, 25th July 2004 @ 04:46:34 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Grab at your dreams as they’re floating away.
Feel your burned fingers as tears they betray.
Knowing they’re running,
Knowing they’re laughing,
Knowing they’re mocking you as you deny.
Bleeding you silent,
Bleeding you ashen,
Bleeding you slowly as you try to fly.

Fall to you knees as they take you away.
Feel yourself breaking with your sins displayed.
Taking you slowly,
Taking you quickly,
Taking you only because of your lie.
Showing your distance,
Showing your absence,
Showing you sliding as you start to die.

Holding your breath as you sink into dust.
Searching and screaming for someone to trust.
Longing for substance,
Longing for freedom,
Longing for something to show you the light.
Tangled in myst’ry,
Tangled in shadow,
Tangled and finding there’s nothing to fight.

Frozen in time now you fade into rust.
Clawing and tearing away at your lust.
Breaking through silence,
Breaking through static
Breaking through bindings that chain you up tight.
Feeling the ending,
Feeling the pressure,
Feeling the demon that’s taking its bite.

This poem is fantastic...you have a real talent, and need to keep it going. The imagery is intense, and sent chills up my spine...

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
