‘Self Medication’
Punctured veins, a pounding heart
Yet I live to face another day
I walk this life with tainted blood
I’ve been living it my own way
Deep within I know I shouldn’t
Still my mind cannot resist
For it is only then (when I fly)
That I ultimately cease to exist
It’s my death in a needle
some say an utter disgrace
I conceive that I need it
Injection to sudden grace
Deep within my sacred garden
Clear my head I connect with time
Standing alone in that ‘sacred’ garden
Where time stands still & waits for me
