If an anchor sinks to the bottom of the sea
And no one knows of its existence
If no one knows where it could be
Will it truly exist?
If a person disappears from everyone’s sight
If that person then disappears from everyone’s thoughts
Then thoughts all in spite
Is that person really alive anymore?
If I died this very day
And no one seemed to notice
No even seemed to pray
Was I every truly alive?
The mind is a fickle thing
Trying to make sense of senselessness
But the headaches that it brings
Moving you to a point of darkness
This alcove of your mind
Where few dread to pass
This darkness makes you oh so blind
The darkness of the unfathomable

i get where you're coming from. but i still say that no matter what the callous uncaring people of our world notice and who they don't notice, changes nothing of their lives. they still were there and still lived; they were just too stupid to notice.
but yeah, i totally get what you mean. like what was the point if no one knows? .. it almost hurts to ponder those questions.
good job putting them into a poem. |

In reply to _in_limbo_'s comment, the light in the fridge turns off when you close the door... and technically the sound of a tree falling in an empty forest does still exist.... But to avoid spoiling the spirit of philosophy, your questions were interesting anyway :) |
