Written to Remember

Contributed by Jellybellyprincess on Saturday, 24th July 2004 @ 12:23:40 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

How can you tell me to remember you?
Seems to me that remembering implies leaving
How can you leave me like this?
Seems to me that you've come to a conclusion
How can you conclude something such as this?
Seems to me to be something undefinable

And you know what that means---
Undefinable
to
Infinite
to
Unreachable
to
Gone

You never really said it
but I knew it was something you wanted
You did say that you were willing to wait for her
I nodded
You looked away
And we left it at that

The silence seemed to fill more than
just the empty corner we occupied in that moment
That's where it went down in history
Down in memory
Down
Down
Down

You had to choose
You knew that
I had yet to find that out

But none the less...

You were willing to wait for her

"REMEMBER ME..."
is what you wrote

And I believe you
when you say that a book once closed
can be re-opened

So I will remember you
And I hope you will remember me as well
Time it was
That the road diverged

Never forget the dream you passed along the way

Love the construct of stanzaand the lines:
"The silence seemed to fill more than
just the empty corner we occupied in that moment
That's where it went down in history
Down in memory
Down
Down
Down"
Good work.
