As I sat at my computer
cocooned by the intimacy
of early morning,
I heard a baby cry.
As I drank my first cup of coffee
cushioned in my womb
of living comfort,
I saw a man being killed.
As I struggled with my attempt
at rescuing myself
from sleeps velvet gauntlet
I thought a disturbing thought,
there but for fortune.....
Then I switched off, and switched on
to 'real' life,
to moan and groan about the day
that lay ahead.
How we all take things for granted!

This is so true..I know I have the tendency to take the comfort and security of my life for granted sometimes...thank you for sharing this excellent verse..
