A single tear drop is shed
Over the now lifeless lump
A life spent growing
Only to end seemingly wasteful
Crumbling skin
Shows what lies beneath
Blood red liquid seeps out
Drips from the flaky covering that can’t hold it in
Sharp steel glows in the light
A cruel silver trident
Drives downward
Striking in again
Oh the humanity I cry
As I take another bite of my cherry pie

Thanks loads. Now I have to go to the bakery tomorrow. Cherry pie is my favorite dessert! LOL This is a very cute poem. I love the twist at the end. I would love it better if it was my piece of cherry pie. Welcome to our little family.

Nessa told me to come and read this poem. She's right, it's cute... Good job. it's 3:00 a.m. and I'm reading about cherry pie. This is as bad as a fast food commercial on my tv...lol

Ohh Willy I'm so mad that I'm not the first to comment... OR to know about your coming here.
Ah well. I still get to call you Willy (in a german accent of course)
I really like this poem. It's very "O Henry" like. I got a great giggle out of this one.
