Dads Gone

Contributed by RavenShadows on Wednesday, 21st July 2004 @ 11:15:03 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

You can shed all your tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray he will return to you,
Or open them and see all that he has left you.
Your heart can bleed and be empty because you cant see him,
Or you can be full of the love and memories that you have shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and think only about him being gone,
Or you can cherish his memory and through you let him live on.
You can cry and close off your mind to the world still around you,
You can be empty and turn your back on life,
Or you can do what he would want of you,
To smile for him, open your eyes, and live on.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful poem ! This poem reveals your beautiful talent and might I say I have been wanting to read something for quite some time like this since I have lost a friend.I will read this whenever I'm on a low because of her death and might I add that your poem gave me a different perspective on her loss.If I could,I would give you a million stars on your work.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
...I loved that!
This poem has some simple, yet very profound thoughts.
I'm glad I read this one.
It's really good.
