The wide world

Contributed by Archie on Tuesday, 20th July 2004 @ 06:55:12 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The world is such a wide place
there are people of every persuasion
I am still trying to find my way
it is often quite frustrating
The things I hold so dear in life
seem to fade away
replaced by the new and the curious
I don't know if I want to change.

(New stanza written 7/25/04)
The wind blows where it wants to go
I must learn to keep my ship on course
Some new things are not worth trying
when you know they end in your good man dying
Though my loneliness is now starting to end
I must still set my course where I am destined
Keep the warnings I know life augurs
and the mysteries of life that keep me proper
though I am pulled to and fro in many directions
I will keep my soul in it's wise obligations

(I leave the rest for the reader to fill, I will fill in lines from time to time)

Change is good, but a destination? That is always the hard one. But make wise choices, and you'll do fine! Nice job.
Angel always...joni

Change is good, Archie. I know it can be intimidating but it adds fresh blood to our lifes and clears out gathered cobwebs. I have been through lots of changes in my life and whether I enjoyed them or not I did learn something from each one. Be strong.

I'm like you Archie.....I'm not sure I want to change
For sometimes all that remains, are the remnants of some long time ago!
I want my basic principles to stay the same......and perhaps then I can change alittle......but these I can never compromise....for they ring true for all time!
Can be confusing at times......that's true.....but don't compromise was is true!Loved this poem..
love

I'll trust in my angels
to keep me on course,
and keep faith with my heart
for better or worse.
With my soul in good hands
and my spirit with wings,
I'll keep on my journey
whatever life brings.

How is that for your ending Archie?
I enjoyed the poem very much. Keith(backstreetdreamer)

Change!! The only thing in the world that's constant.... I am terrified at changes..but I have learnt to accept them as they come... at least, I am trying to...
Good write..

Excellent style. You've brightly portrayed feelings that really come home to one.

Encore!

Andrew
