Already Gone

Contributed by RavenShadows on Tuesday, 20th July 2004 @ 06:16:41 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

An angel came from heaven today
To take my daddy way far away
To a home way up high in the sky
Where there are never clouds
And birds always fly
To a land of green grass and trickling streams
Where the air is pure and pain is a dream
And even though I know he's at peace
My heart still aches and I want to scream
Its not real, its not fair
I cry and I say
God has no right to take him
He can't take my daddy today
Not today or tomorrow or now or ever
Tell me this is just a sick game
No it cant be I seen him, I did CPR
Things will never be the same
The paramedic said his heart stopped in the car
There’s nothing left here for us to do
We cant bring him back now
I’m sorry its to late
His body is cold and blue
He's whole now he's pure now, he's feeling no pain
Because god has made him new
So go home now, release him
Just be on your way
Your daddy’s not here now he's gone from here
The angels have taken him away
