Deepest cuts
never bleed.
Though they
make a hole in me.
The friendly razor edge
reaches to meet
my veins,
but they're just too far in.
My mutilated arms
beat the pillow in
hopeless rage.
Addicted to pain and
mystifying crimson,
I swim in my own beautiful
frustration.
