Pressing on Bruises

Contributed by iluvpencils on Monday, 19th July 2004 @ 11:55:23 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

You pressed on my bruises
Poured salt on my open wounds
Duf into my scars
Stomped on my broken toes
Now God only knows
How much you've helped me

You confused me so much
I thought I'd lost touch with all reality
But it took me this long to see
How strong I'be come to be

You pressed on my bruises
Were nothing but salt on a cut
You reopened scars

All because of you I'm so battered now
And I know how cliche this sounds
But you'be made me so much stronger now

You pressed on my bruises
Were nothing but salt on a cut
You reopened all my scars

And now every night I press on my bruises
I know I've found a little truth in
Where I got them
Places I'be been
Sights I've seen
They're all a part of me
You're still a part of me
No matter how painful it may be
I want to make that part last

You pressed on my bruises
Were nothing but salt on a cut
You reopened all my scars

So even though I hate you
And al the stupid things that you do
I guess I'm saying thank you
I'm so much stronger now
And you know that it's true

Simple but true.
