I am the storm, Mark’s the calm,
I am the one who causes harm,
They say opposites attract,
Compliment how the other reacts.
It’s no fun being the storm,
Leaving loved ones feeling worn,
I would love to be a calm river,
Just with words of love to deliver.
But my storm is big & mighty,
It holds onto me so tightly,
I try so hard to break free,
It is the calm I want to be.
I can consume all who are close,
Leave them empty like a ghost,
I scare myself with my tidal wave,
To overcome it I have to be brave.
My bolt crackles like lightning,
For everyone involved can be frightening,
I am the storm, Mark’s the calm,
I love him, but keep causing him harm.

Being aware of the problem is the first step toward change. You are on your way. This lays out clearly the way you see things. I like your use of rhyme as well.

You've realized the problem and now you can work on the solution.
The storm and calm, great symbols. |
