selfstruggles
|
Alone, but
Surrounded.
Desolate, but
perceptive.
Misunderstood, but
self conceived.
Frustrated, but
unblaming.
Opinions are my own,
Frustration lacks its truth,
Determined to be understood.
Different, but,
somewhat similar.
Consistent,
yet isolated at heart.
Fractured soul, but
mended heart.
Tuned out, but
aware of all.
Thoughts and morals are my own,
Angered by society and friends,
I wish someone could understand me.

I like this an awful lot. I shall not be obnoxious enough to say that I understand it. I will say instead, that I found myself in it somewhere. Treading lightly, I will also gently suggest that the poet's inspiration often comes from a desire to be known, understood in a way that doesn't seem possible without the write. This seems a striking example of that. This is, I think, the best possible thing you could have done with your frustration. Very well done!
Appreciating your willingness to share this,
