What You Didn't Say.

Contributed by Dusty on Sunday, 18th July 2004 @ 11:07:26 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The dim green glow from the radio dial,
The bitter sadness in your eyes when you smiled,
The feel of your harsh, unshaven cheek on my skin,
The warm spring night you finally broke and let me in,
Your broken voice and unshed tears,
As our eyes met in the darkness, admitting our fears,
The glow of the moon illuminating the night,
As you took me in your arms, holding me tight,
I felt out your silence like someone blind,
And searched out answers I have yet to find,
But you spoke first when you asked me to stay,
And I learned all I needed to know in the words you DIDN'T say.

Beautfilly written, Dusty. I like the flow of this and the gentile way that you've expressed yourself. I get the impression (per the specifics that you've offered that point to it) that this was an a-ha kind of moment... something of rather large impact.

Thank you for sharing this.... I enjoyed the read.

Hoping you've found answers enough,
SNM

Very good work here.
I'm glad this poem hasn't been stretch out too long... it's short and every line has meaning and depth.

Good poem, where it flows.

"I felt out your silence like someone blind,"
Well done.
