lengthening shadows

Topic: LostLove

______________________________
what am i to do? i miss you darling, true,
when i could look in your eyes,
my heart felt butterflies,

i've a picture of you when we were happy,
when life was all ahead of us,
when we were young,

your arms so strong, your lips so sweet,
but where were we going? not ever knowing the way,
riding the highway of life that took you away,

love is love, until the end of reckoning,
our mortal journeys are over all too soon,
lengthening shadows on my soul fall from the moon,

love for you still lives in my every heartbeat,
so glad we did not say goodbyes,
just a see you later; your eyes,

so beautiful and loving,
they were brown and i am blue,
evermore knowing lonely,

since i lost you.

Well Nessa, this is about the most appropriate picture I could possibly think of to explain the state of loss. It is rather like being a mushroom, isn't it. You live in the damp darkness with no light. Excellent analogy, my dear ladyfawn. Excellent!

Love n hugs,
Rita

A very awesome poem. I know how it feels when the road that people share with me diverges and they go some where else...

You portray pain and sorrow so poetically.I get lost amid the words, but I understand the pain behind them. May your beautiful soul continue to release such beauty for our eyes to behold, and may we find understanding through your penned words. (((Nessa)))
Angel always...joni

So sad Nessa, so heartwrenching....so blue.
I love the title......for you it is lengthening shadows.......Please stand in the sun now. where if overhead you glare, there is no shadow there!
