Please Don't Leave Me

Contributed by coaster on Sunday, 18th July 2004 @ 12:33:27 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Drowning beneath an ocean of a thousand cries
Buried beneath a thousand thoughts of guilt
I know I have tight grip of your hand, don’t let go
Frustrated emotions, Because I know its not your choice
How I’m afraid that some day I may loose your voice
Just another familiar scent that I can’t define
Memories have only seemed to turn into unreal illusions
How I used to think that it was so hard to cry
Overwhelmed with guilt, Please don’t leave me
Too much remorse has built up, I need to scream
It would feel so much better if I couldn’t feel at all
How it would feel so much better if I couldn’t feel at all

I know how I'd feel in your shoes, but the closest I've been was losing my grandmother last year. I tried to force myself to be strong, but it didn't work. It's difficult to let go, but it doesn't hurt forever. this touched me deep inside where I thought all the emotions were dead.

Great job.

Great expression - I just found out my dad has cancer, so I understand exactly where you are coming from, and thought his was well done.

This is incredibly powerful. I'm shocked at how well this was written. Great job!
