Alas, I fear that my friends’ parents,
Hold something against,
The thought of me.
Why don’t they like me?
I can tell,
That they’re afraid of what I can be.
I’m not afraid to be
Independent, strong willed, or act heroically.
I’m not afraid to rebel
Against granted authority.
Since my friends listen,
To their parents' wishes and dreams;
I shall leave my ‘friends’ alone,
And find worthy company…

this was an amazing write. i seriously loved every part of this, you wrote it so professionally and the message stood clear. i can picture these "friends parent's" looking down on you for you being you, it is simply wrong. we are independant for a reason! maybe you need to find worthy company who will love you for you. take care.
