Why, God, Why?
You sent your only son-
out into the world-
out into the pain-
you knew what would be done.
Why, God, Why?
You sent him down to us-
out into the hate-
out into the envy-
you knew he was different.
Why, God, Why?
You sent him to change the people-
out into the crowds-
out into the mobs-
you knew he would suffer.
Why, God, Why?
You sent him because you loved us-
out into the evil-
out into the grief-
you knew he would accomplish the task.
which he so faithfully did.
So now I leave you with one thing-
Why, people, Why?
Why don't you love him back?
