Unknown to you my saddened companion,
I was born like a Persian rose.
I thought my venomous skin would turn you
But instead time you froze.
Friendships can be broken by change
But the bonds they create cannot.
And that is why I stand by you,
Because you are the friend I've always sought.
Yes, it's true that I never saw the same trees
In the forest we both walked before.
But the poison the ivy gives,
Never has been able to close my pores.
So I offer my hand to you
Not as Giovanni, but as a friend.
Worry not about ever hurting me,
My angel from Heaven sent.

Friendship like this just doesn't come along often enough. Nice piece of work. |
