A Mother's Feelings

Contributed by Bruce on Friday, 16th July 2004 @ 09:54:18 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

When a women conceives an infant
and carries it to its birth
The feelings of love inside her
are the greatest in heaven or on earth
No one but a mother
who has carried this baby within
Could describe how a mother feels
or even attempt to begin
The new emotions created
that come from having a child
Makes a mother more beautiful
and totally beguiled
Is it any wonder
if a tragedy were to occur
What this love and all these emotions
would be doing inside of her
We cannot possibly imagine
what a mother would go through
But can only hope and pray
that it would never happen to you

Sigh..... You have written this so well... and I am talking from experience... not the experience of actually having that child.... but I know the feelings all too well.. And after the recent loss of my sister's baby who was still-born, and who felt like my own... the pain is doubly hard....
Thank you for showing your compassion as a man thru this poem......
Jenni
