I am a little girl who clings to her heart
I wonder why the stars shine brightly in the nighttime sky
I hear a faint love song from Heaven
I see a rocky path with ridges and stones
I want to make a difference
I am a little girl who clings to her heart
I pretend that I have a father who cares
I feel a tugging at my soul
I touch my tears and place them on my heart
I worry what days ahead will bring
I cry for peace in my home and in my heart
I am a little girl who clings to her heart
I understand that I am not invincible, even though I wish I were
I say that I can handle myself
I dream of love
I try to keep strong for my mom
I hope that my heart won’t desert me
I am a little girl who clings to her heart.

I like your style, I'll be sure to look for more of your poems to come. I enjoyed how you used "I am a little girl who clings to her heart" in every stanza, it pushed it out that you wanted it known but was not overly annoying. Great write. Keep writing. |
