I am one of We

Contributed by rhymeandreason on Wednesday, 14th July 2004 @ 06:53:35 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

When all that's left of Law alive
is Truth's manipulation.
Then this Court is just Lies connive.
For liars veneration.

When possible, not probable,
supercedes what's true.
And reasoned use of logic
is no longer judgements avenue,
to reach a just conclusion.
When truth is deemed intrusion.
For being honest right and fair.
That's why this one of We the People,
now tell you to beware.

No measure of authority
that you might place between.
Or how high a percentage of majority.
You trick with lies obcene.

That will save your reach forsaken,
that clutches now our rights.
For one of We awakened,
and set Liberties Torch alight.

Then rang our nations sacred Bell.
Though fractured it rang True.
As it does,
so all can tell.
when warning call is due.

My all I wager glady.
This one bets his all on We.
Those that don't bet badly.
Do so and you'll see.

Woe to those who shield the slaver.
Who have sworn they'd shield the free.
No charge among us graver.
No greater blaspheme.

Now choose with which to cast your lot.
Then give that side your all.
For you my friend are now at war.
To all of WE i've placed war call.

If you can't hear this call i've made.
I think that you know why.
If you could, you'd be dismayed.
At the thunderous reply.
Of all ones of WE,
including I.

THIS CALL TO NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, AND WEST,;SEND YOUR STRONGEST, SMARTEST ,BEST.
LAWLESS LAW IS WORSE THAN NONE. RIGHTS WE'VE LOST MUST BE RE-WON. BREAKING LAWS THAT NONE SHOLD BEND. IS THE MESSAGE HERE THEY SEND. OATH FORSAKEN ONE'S KNOW THIS. AS ALWAYS WAS: DON'T TREAD ON THIS!

Sounds like the writings of someone stuck in the middle of a taffy pull if you ask me (and by the by, R&R, I appreciated the NE reference there!).

I do, however, very much like where frustration has taken you... though I'm sorry you had to take the journey. I think you know how I'd wager. And.... I'm a bit closer to Lady Liberty and that old bell than you are.... if you need me to, I'll pop over and make sure the torch is still burning and will give that bell a healthy whack if you should like me to! How could I not offer after having read this piece?!!? It really is (to use your metaphor) meaty. Thanks for giving me something to sink my brain into. *smile*

Considering that the wolf surely must have better things to do and thinking it's about time he got to them,

Savage and so true. You caught this one mid-leap.

Well done, R&R. It took me a while to get round to reading it, but it was worth it in the end.

As are all struggles for truth, in my opinion.

Keep writing.
