Cry for an Embrace

Contributed by liquidsunshine on Wednesday, 14th July 2004 @ 12:19:04 PM in AEST
Topic: hbadday

Silently I weep
I weep and a tear lolls down my cheek
My cheek is damp with pain
Pain guides another tear to slide near my nose
My nose is dripping with tears still more of which cling to my eyelashes
My eyelashes are sopping and the makeup runs
The makeup runs and my arms recoil
Recoil and retract and my hands grasp my shoulders
My shoulders feel harsh heaviness
Heaviness that lies upon me with all might
With all might I stand up and go step by step
Step by step, I go through my day
Through my day, the heaviness sets in deeper
The heaviness sets in deeper and I need an embrace
I need an embrace as I sit on the bench
As I sit on the bench, I read a book
I read a book in the sunlight
The sunlight gives the warm illusion of an embrace
The warm illusion of an embrace is almost all I need
All I need is a hug

Big huge hugs to you. But remember one thing. It is only a ticket and will not change world events. Just try harder not to get them, but don't drag yourself down because of it.

Hugs and smiles,
Rita

yes, cops can be a-holes, but then again so can I. Good poem I liked how you repeated different words... very effective i thought. Once again a good poem.

I like the connection and the flow. Greatly and creatively written. If only states didn't separate us, Chelsea! A warm word of love is the best hug I can give you now, sorry. I love you.
