psyching up
level the eyes
paint the lipstick smile
happiness will be mine tonight
fool the mirror like you'll fool the rest
rosy cheeks can only mean alive and well
don't look me straight in the eye
excuse shaking hands with drunken high
gasp deep on a fag let the world pass by
cos people give up on you if you can't even try
psyched up, almost convinced i know what i'm doing
search that reflection for any clue
patch up any ruin poking through
tonight, no-one will know the truth.

very good write it makes me feel a bit sad its almost a painfull truth comming out of that poem for anyone who has been in a position of having to coverup pain with a smile and keep going for their own good or what they think is their own good.

oh wow!
I totally love this poem.
and i totally agree with nexxa on what she said about it....
it does indeed have a painful vibe radiating from it...
Though it's also very powerful and riveting...
