As the Music Softly Played

Contributed by Kie-Kie on Tuesday, 13th July 2004 @ 06:13:38 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Late at night
I sat awake
Sitting beside
A crystal lake
when suddenly
I began to hear
A melodic tune
Reach my ear

And as the music
Softly played
Sitting alone
I began to fade

Into the night
I disappeared
For my life
I greatly feared
But soon I grew calm
Hearing the beat
My spirit sprang
Onto my feet
And I began
To dance and play
For in one place
I could not stay

And as the music
Softly Played
Dancing alone
I began to fade

Towards the sound
My feet took me
Ove the hill
Among the trees
Until I saw
A silver light
Shining down
Ever so bright
Then I heard
From somewhere near
A voice ask me
So sincere
To take a song
And to it sing
Then through the trees
My voice did ring

And as the music
Softly played
Singing along
I began to fade

And then at once
He did appear
A tiny fairy
So small and dear
His smile was wide
His face was grand
The he sat
Upon my hand
Everything around me
Seemed to get taller
But reall
I was getting smaller
The fairy smiled
And turned from me
I then grew wings
Where my back should be
My eyes lit up
He took my hand
Flew me over
Sea and land

And as the music
Softly played
No longer alone
I began to fade

I can't resist poems with the word "music" in the title. Oh Kiela this was beyond wonderful to read.

Very high marks for this poem that shines a light on your obvious talent.

Every verse and stanza I wanted to quote bec. I adored all of it!

I commend you on this one and highly.

Kie
