Melted

Contributed by Phildel on Friday, 25th October 2002 @ 01:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I remember when things weren't like this,
You cuddled me always, every chance,
And now I doubt you'd look to me
To take up the very last dance.

Although I'm still your girlfriend,
I find it so hard to hang on,
While I'm still salvaging kisses,
It seems you're already long gone.

Like a candle which once burned so fiercely,
I now view our love as "lost cause",
A candle-stick holder once sat on silk,
Is now replaced by a rough tarnished gauze.

And me? I look on with sorrow,
More sleepless nights without passion or care,
But I know hearts can not bleed when
There is no shred to feel for, left there.

And you? I have no idea,
What or who takes the place of our once fun filled days,
Who pleases you, when your lonely,
Who demands "Romeo" in those old Shakespeare plays.

I resort to bitter kisses,
From the wrong types (or the right types,
Who already have someone like me...)
And I dream of people who do not wear your face,
But an imitation of love less ugly.

See our love slowly melted to shapeless,
A poor heap of mess undefined,
Perhaps now is the time to say farewell,
For our love is clearly no longer blind.

your feelings are very well expressed through your words-believe me-If you wrote this through experience then I know what your going through-and it does get worse before it gets better-but it always gets better-good luck and hang in there
