Special

I thought we had something special, something that would last
But it turns out, you couldn't let go of the past
She stayed in your thoughts, even after what she'd done
I wanted you to love me, I wanted to be your only one
I wished to be with you, to heal your broken heart
To pick up it's pieces, and give you a brand-new start
Our timing was off, maybe a different place and time
Could have kept our hearts together, and you would still be mine
Now MY heart is broken, I'M the one stuc kin the past
I always ask myself, how did happiness go by so fast
I learned one thing from you, and your stubborn memories
Your going to miss out, on bigger and better things
So this is what I'm telling you through clenched teeth, and tear-filled eyes
I'm going to mone on, before my opportunity passes by
A part of me will always love you, the guy who I couldn't have
I will remember the times you made me cry, and the times you made me laugh
Store them away, safe within my heart
To examine them from time to time, analyze them and take them apart
But other then that, to you I say good-bye
One day you make some girl lucky, when you become her guy
You'll be happy again someday, I know this is a fact
Hopefully we'll still be friends, unless you turn your back
I really still do love you, walking away is the hardest thing I've ever done
Just try to remember the good times, we had alot of fun
Who knows how things will end, in the future you never know
We may end up together, our pain faded long ago
But for now I must say, good-bye and adu
And just to let you know, I never lost faith in you
