MY FRIENDS

Contributed by critterhideaway on Monday, 12th July 2004 @ 10:50:18 PM in AEST
Topic: PetPoems

I watch them romp in my fields of green with breakneck speed and agility. Their herd instinct is beyond compare, why they'll put your critters anywhere! They'll herd you goats, your ducks,,your cows with fearless determination. A horse my god! they'll herd her too beyond your imagination. These faithful dogs are my family you see, they love me without question. They care not if I'm pretty or wise, they just want to be by my side. A pet, a kiss is all they ask for unconditional love. Their beauty has been sent to me I'm sure from up above. These Border Collies you see, look to me for all their material needs, in return they give to me unconditional love and loyalty. As I think of how I feel these days I can't help but wonder? What if man could love this way, What a beautiful spell we'd be under.

I have five dogs, one is border collie. Could there possibly be a more loving dog in this world.......If there is, I can't see!!!
This was a loving write and you are so correct! When you have little dogs by your side.......you're home free! Best little companions ever. I'll always have dogs forever and forever!!
Loved this poem........was so true and loving!!

Love it. The title made me think of a song from a musical, Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, by Stephen Sondheim. (one of the best musicals ever, if you don't know it, check it out!) Anyway, nice thoughts.
