Memories
they just fade away
Some things change
and some things stay the same
You look up at the sky
and remember the days
that you and your friends
would get cought in a summer daze
Years go by
and friends go too
and those memories
just make you blue
You see the tree
that you and your friends
would hide under
during stormy thunder
You pass by the creek
where you and your friends would meet
to skip school
or maybe go to the pool
Those memories
come visit you everyday
it makes you think about
the games you and your friends would play
You remember the silly fights you would get in
but you can't remember what started them
You probably don't remember the day you met
but you remember everyday since then
Remember who your true friends are
if they're with you from the start
they'll be with you til you part

I like this very much. Poignant, nostalgic, and one that most of us can relate to. I like the way that you use specific memories in the poem, which brings the piece to life. |
