Never Gonna Be

Contributed by drummerchic18 on Monday, 12th July 2004 @ 10:09:27 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Never a day in my life do I want to be like you. I use to try and do the things that you do. You are to far from me yet always inside me.

I hate it when I look in the mirror and see your face staring back at me. I despise the fact that I’m your mini-me.

You grew up and ruined your life, but now me, now it’s my time. I don’t want to end up like you. I don’t want to do the things you do. I’m not gonna turn around and walk away.

I remember the days when we would stay up all night. I looked up to you cause I saw everything you went through. I use to think you were exactly what I wanted to be.

But you turned around and walked out that door. You aren’t the person I thought you were. I don’t think it would hurt so bad if you weren’t my blood. But now I’ve decided to look to you as everything I will never let myself come to.

You can really feel the emotion in here. I can kinda share what your going through though in the whole "I don't wanna be like you" part and talking about a family member. Keep writing.
