Images begin to take
Shape and form
To fashion themselves
Optical illusions
Mistaken for reality.
And as these
Dancing mirages
Travel upon ephemeral thoughts
Seeking permanent lodging
I stop in the midst
Of my reactive repulsion
To acknowledge their validity.
For there mere presence
Admonishes falsity
Setting truth aside
To sustain on its own merit.
Announcing the difference
Made possible only
By the co-existence.
So I shun the left
No more than I would the right
And betwixt the two
Extend myself towards that
Which will make me whole.
