Don’t you stand there and lie to me.
Pat my head and tell me everything’s going to be alright.
Not when I know something’s wrong.
Not when I hurt this much inside.
Don’t you tell me to go back to class like everything’s okay.
The halls are getting clearer but I don’t care.
Do not lie to me and tell me that I’m not sick.
You stole that envelope and now you get to tell me the wonderful news.
Don’t you make me think that I’m alright.
Don’t you tell me that these voices inside me are mine.
Don’t you tell me that I really am this dirty, not when I haven’t done anything.
Put the results back on her desk.
Don’t look at me with those sad eyes as you shred that letter.
It isn’t yours to destroy.
You don’t wanna believe it because you are selfish and you don’t wanna deal with the pain.
It isn’t your pain to deal with.
Don’t tell me I’m fine.
Don’t tell me everything’s gonna be alright.
Because nothing will ever be alright.
