The Allure Of A Home

Contributed by blueheart on Sunday, 11th July 2004 @ 09:06:50 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

The smell of cookies waft through the air,
Hung family potrait welling with pride,
Sense of belonging carved within the walls,
A house where clasped trust resides.

Noisy neighbours irk the frame,
Silent nights when zest subsides,
Waves of solace glide around,
Childish fears, around they hide.

Familiarity sprawled in grace,
Within these rooms my life is honed,
Rising nostalgia traces each scene,
This is, for me, the allure of a home.

I am living in my ancesteral home. Many generations have walked these halls in love and warmth and protection. There truly is 'no place like home.' I was never totally satisified in life until I returned here where I feel completely safe and secure within these walls. No matter what they say, you can always go home. Even if it is only within your mind.

This poems discribes your wonderful home, right down to the walls and memories they honed!
I hope you the change to go back soon.....it's hard to be away.......the one word I would suggest to you, if you can't control your situation or change it......ACCEPT is the magic word.......try very hard just to accept your being away from that which you love.
Beautiful poem
Poetic hugs

Your home sounds very homely and cosy.....well, we all have to leave home some time or the other to find ourselves and fend for ourselves...lovely write, it's gentle and touching.
