He hunts around the kitchen like a hound,
Ransacking the cupboards for morsels to be found.
Grocery shopping is a chore we dread,
"Mom, I'm hungry, do we have any bread?"
Hotdogs and catsup will do quite nice,
"Mom , will you go and buy fried rice?"
"Mom are you done eating? Cause I'd like the rest."
"Im still hungry I must confess."
It's only been five minutes since he ate last.
"I'm still hungry." his stomach broadcasts.
His hollow leg just never gets full,
Now it's time for more cereal.
It doesn't matter how much he consumes,
In just five minutes there will be more room.
Then it starts the second round,
"Mom I'm hungry." as he sniffs around.

Yes, I raised two sons who were bottomless pits and half the teenage boys in town I think. We went through 2 gallons of milk, minimum, a day and 2 to 3 loaves of bread. That is not counting all the cereal, cookies, candy, fruit and pizzas ordered in. It costs a fortune to raise them just in food bills. LOL I can definitely relate to this piece.

Boy can I ever relate!!!
I raised two sons.....one was 16 years older that the one so late.
The older one couldn't get full either.....he discovered the pacman game at the Pizza Parlor gave free Pizzas to the highest scorer...he won each night....was easier on my grocery bill.....but finally the Pizza Parlor had their fill......took the game away! teehee
My younger who lives with me is just the oppposite.....won't hardly eat......he's a student but has always worked at Subway or Quiznos.........must I relate? Wonderful for the grocery bill though!
I adore poems written around the home!
Great job!
Poetic hugs
