Come said the keeper of the key
I can see that you are new,
Follow closely the painted line
To your room without a view.
The glow of youth that fills your cheeks
Too soon will fade away,
The steel, the bars, the concrete yards
Will paint your soul deep grey.
For three score years and seven
I have watched them come and go,
I've seen the sunshine in their eyes
Replaced by sleet and snow.
We don't encourage words like hope
Or rehabilitation,
The only charter we persue
Is the protection of the nation.
