Foresight my darkness

Contributed by Ryoko on Saturday, 10th July 2004 @ 02:39:26 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Have you ever felt so lonely,
that the world could eat you up,
and not only would the people not care,
but you also cannot give a damn.

Has it ever been so bad,
that you can cut deep as you like,
and never feel the blood running,
'cos your soul was never there.

Have you ever been so angry,
that beating yourself up,
can leave cuts and bruises on the outside,
but scars that run deep on the inside.

Have you ever been so cold,
that putting yourself down,
can start to make you elated,
it can make you feel safe.

Have you ever felt so trapped,
that a cage would be comfortable,
so your mind had space to be free,
and your arms have room to move.

Has your emotions ever confined you,
to a well of fire that consumes your being,
keeping your hands bound with ribbons,
only to be cut with plastic scissors.

Has your life come to such a stop,
that people are moving fast forwards,
and you are walking backwards,
standing on a platform of paper.

Have you ever felt so distant,
that just looking ahead,
can seem like a mile away,
it can make you run for streams of time.

Have you ever felt so much like crying,
that your eyes go bone dry,
and all you can feel is the water in your body,
seeping through your skin.

Have you ever felt so violent,
that your knuckles could go white,
and that colour could be there forever,
'cos your minds permanantely red.

Have you ever been so betrayed,
that being who you are is a chore,
and all you want is a corner in a room,
to make your fort around your heart.

Has your childhood been so bad,
that you cant remember any of it,
and you chooose to block your mind,
with a thick shard of titanium.

Is the present causing so much hurt,
that you feel all these things,
bundled up in a ball of twine,
For people to play with freely.
