'The Beast Of Sherwood' by Thivanka

Contributed by Thivanka on Saturday, 10th July 2004 @ 01:50:23 AM in AEST
Topic: fictional

'The Beast Of Sherwood'

‘Have ye slain the beast my son?
Have ye severed the fiery wings?
Or have you cowardly shun
It’s face of profane sin’?

‘The wind wrought lines of tense,
The grass drenched wholesome with blood,
What have I as defense?
Against the beast of Sherwood’?

‘Have ye no mind,
As to what reposes in your sheath?
Was the wind so vague for you to find
The blade inches from your teeth’? (The lad was grinning)

‘The blade been immaculate,
Hence, the sun’s scimitar been sharp,
My sight too, would’ve decapitated,
If I drew my card’!

‘O, foolish talk of a sheer coward,
Fairytales I despise to hear!
Tell me what made ye wayward,
What made you strive clear’?

‘O forgive me, my lord,
For I lied in fear of been slain!
Thus, was forced to fraud,
Or would’ve been slain in vain’!

‘Who dared to threaten your presence,
When your errand was to slay the beast?
I fear, the beast is of their inheritance,
Or why bother the least’?

‘If it so my lord,
Let us travel to the vicinity of the beast.
There we shall encounter the horde,
Who forced me to deceit.’

‘Then let us travel to the deathly vale,
Where your tyrants repose.
To see what scandal prevails,
Therefore guide me to it’s coast’!
