There’s something in your voice giving everything away,
There’s something on your mind and in the words you try to say,
I don’t know where you’ve come from or where you’ve been so long,
But I do know why you’re here, and loving you’s so wrong.
There are questions in your voice that I try not to hear,
No matter what you say now, though, it won’t erase those years,
The tears you cried to reach me, the venom in your eyes,
The years you tried to break me, the bitterness and lies,
Can’t you see those days are over, my patience has run out,
I see you haven’t changed a bit, it does no good to shout,
See, you don’t really know me now or what I’m all about,
Don’t you call me Angel, I’m not the girl you knew,
Don’t you say you love me, I can’t say I love you too.
Don’t you call me Angel, I’m not the girl you knew,
I can’t say I forgive you after all you put me through.
Why have you come here and confessed to me your fears?
Did you think that I’d forget about the heartache and the tears?
Did you think I’d open up my arms and greet you with a smile?
Did you think that I’d protect you, as I’m hurting all the while?
I’m not that girl you swore to love,
The one you promised to always take care of,
I’m not the girl who loved you so,
Please let me, let me let you go.
Don’t you call me Angel, I’m not that girl anymore,
Don’t you say you love me, I have heard it all before,
Don’t you call me Angel, because I am not the same,
Don’t you say you love me, Don’t you call my name.

From one song writer to another, well done. It is original yet classic. What genre of music were you thinking of using this in? It seems to be able to be many. |
