Vermilion dawn
Aurora sworn in
A Bronze gilded halo of Hawks
To meet in the Golden garden of senses
Where the Jasper river does fork.
We'll drink, excite, evoke and dine
On a very serene musing Julep
Rud Raspberry, and a sweet sweet Tulip
Reaches scenes, Nectarine Peach in your mind.
There you’ll dive deep, obtain and meet
Your inner most sugary sane secrets
That swim in a vespers verse of Violet
Beehive Moons, raining twinkling trinkets.
That swirl in a ripple of curls
Apricot kernels floating to the top
Of your mind, that cries a plural tear drop
That flows through, and become Pearls.

Whoa, let me get my feet back on the ground here for a second. Robert, that is an amazing poem. It puts me in mind of my time in NOLA where I would drink Juleps (although they were mint, not peach) and sit back and laze away in the humid evening air. Your imagery is amazing. Now I just have to try a peach julep, lol

I was just blown away by this piece. Each word is precisely where it ought to be. This is definitely fine poetry. |
