Summer Rain

Contributed by wray on Friday, 9th July 2004 @ 09:48:37 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Fall of summer rain –
A warmful patter of mountain droplets
Gusted in from the hills, where leaves stir untrodden;
Breeze rustles flowers,
Those feather-skinned petals, they soak in the golden light;
Crickets hum to unheard rhythms.

Whiskers of dandelions –
A cool, gurgling creek that laughs to see us play;
Beneath these branches you rest, and me,
Us breathing in
And out in abandon, eternal, in harmony,
Listening to the smell of gentle raindrops.

Evening falls –
Awake now, these twinkling gemstones;
Watch us lie here, intertwined, like you who grace my throat.
The night holds still.
I'll pause this moment forever,
To remember, when you're gone, the feel of summer rain.

Wray, the vision was so soft and lovely. Just like a summer rain. It is magical.

I found this to be masterpiece material.

I wanted to reach out and either touch or feel nature when it cleanses.

I commend you on this one.

Wray,

I finally got to catch up with your poem from a comment on one of mine from last january (better late than never).

Your poem is a warm and satisfying read, especially given that the subject matter is about death. Romantic though, and no resistence to the reality of it all, just the calm involvement in the natural cycle and its beautiful aspects. very enjoyable.

Spike
