Last December wasn't the first time ice dripped from the roof imprisoning my front porch.
It wasn't the first time I shuddered while pulling my shirt loose from my snowpants to relieve my chilled back from remnants of the snowball decisively aimed at my head by my snickering brothers.
It wasn't the first time I used my teeth to pull up sleeves to cover my bulky gloves nor was it the first time I used my over active imagination to turn a snow drift into an enemies fortess.
This summer won't be the first time I punch my brother in the shoulder and claim it's a bug. It won't be the first time I take off my shoes and walk on a carpet of grass.
It won't be the first time I stay up late and walk silently around the house daring myself to be scared nor will it be the first time I scared myself in to believing something that isn't there.
It's last time before we all grow up, but it's the first time i'll really miss it.
