Hold back the dawn with baited suspicion,
Close false eyelashes and
Draw another breath.
Fingers click the
Clacks of steps
Of feets on steps
Of wood;
Take care of gaps
Be wary of traps
Always tricked by an ambush.
Take thy hand to thy heart
For thou art scared
And thou art deserving of fear.
